Introduction

DVT allows you to generate schematic, flow, or block diagrams for any module or entity in your design. You can start from any view containing modules or entities, or from the DVT editor.

Generating a Diagram

To generate a diagram:

  1. Open the Design Hierarchy view.
  2. Click on the Select Top View toolbar button to populate it.
  3. Right-click on the instance and select Show Diagram.

Exploring the Diagram

You can explore the diagram by using the mouse scroll wheel to zoom or click and drag to pan.

To return to the initial zoom level, click on the Fit Canvas toolbar button.

You can change the schematic diagram into a flow or block diagram using the Preferences.

Saving the Diagram

To save a diagram as an image:

  1. Select Save As.
  2. Fill in the target folder and diagram name.
  3. Select the image format and adjust the resolution.
  4. Click on the Save button.

Note: You can also save the diagram in a scalable format, like SVG, by selecting the SVG format in the dropdown.
