Introduction

When running a simulation using Run Configurations, DVT can highlight and hyperlink errors, warnings, and methodology-specific messages. The same behavior can be achieved for pre-existing simulator log files.

Displaying Pre-Existing Simulator Log Files

  1. Open the Run Configuration dialog and create a new configuration which displays the content of a log file.
  2. For a generic approach, use the selected resource location variable.

Enabling Coloring and Hyperlinks

To enable coloring and hyperlinks:

  1. Go to the Filters tab.
  2. Select the appropriate simulator and methodology.

Creating a Shortcut

For easier access, you can also create a shortcut in the Shortcuts tab. A pretty-printed version of the simulator log is now one click away.

Using the Built-in Run Configuration Example

For convenience, a run configuration example is built into the tool. You can access it from:

dvt-examples > misc > run configurations
